Latest: Salford services closing due to strikes
Salford Council have released updated details of services not available today due to the public sector strikes.
Libraries, museums, day centres, schools and bin collections will be affected. Schools The majority of Salford schools will be closed to pupils on Wednesday 30 November 2011. So far, 93 schools have confirmed they are closing. The following schools will remain open or partially open: * Grosvenor Road Primary School - partially open * Light Oaks Infant School - partially open * St Mary’s CE Primary School - partially open * St Mary’s RC Eccles Primary School - partially open * St Paul's CE (Crompton Street) - fully open * Beis Yaakov - fully open Day centres The following day centres will be closed: * Alexandra House * Brierley House * Craig Hall * Humphrey Booth, Ordsall * Humphrey Booth Resource Centre / Poppy Day Centre * Prince's Park Garden Centre * St George's * Waterside Children's centres The following Children’s centres will remain open: * Barton Moss Children’s Centre * Belvedere Children’s Centre * Eccles Children’s Centre * Higher Broughton Children’s Centre * Lark Hill Children’s Centre * Little Hulton Children’s Centre * Mossfield Children’s Centre * Primrose Children’s Centre * St Paul’s CE Heathside Children’s Centre * Swinton and Moorside Children’s Centre Council building opening hours The receptions at Salford Civic Centre and Unity House will be open for customer access. Refuse collections There will be no refuse collections today. Salford Community Leisure facilities * All Fit City sites across the city will be open as usual * All community centres across the city will be open as usual * Salford Watersports Centre will be open as usual Libraries The following libraries will be open as usual: * Clifton * Hope * Lower Kersal These libraries will be closed: * Cadishead * Irlam * Eccles * Little Hulton * Swinton * Broughton Hub * Walkden Gateway * Pendleton Gateway * Mobile Library Service * Mobile Information Centre These libraries are normally closed on Wednesday: * Boothstown * Height * Ordsall * Winton * Worsley Village Community facilities at schools Community use at the following schools will be open and operating normal opening hours: * Buile Hill * Harrop Fold * Walkden High Community use at this school will be closed: * Irlam Museums These museums will be closed: * Salford Museum and Art Gallery * Ordsall Hall Due to problems with spam only SalfordOnline members can now leave comments.
