   Eccles by-election: the nominees
The nominees who will stand for the vacant council seat in Eccles have been announced by Salford Council. A by-election was called in Eccles after the sad death of Councillor John Cullen (see obituary below). The candidates are in alpabetical order below: JOHNSON Nicholas 94 Rocky Lane, Eccles M30 9LY (The Conservative Party) KELLY Valerie 14 Bridlington Avenue, Salford M6 8BP (Liberal Democrats) POLLITT Kay 92 Gerald Road, Salford M6 6DF (British National Party) VALENTINE Alan Dominic 248 Peel Green Road, Eccles M30 7BU (Independent) WHEELER Michael 15 Russell Street, Eccles M30 0NU (The Labour Party) The winner will join Lisa Stone (Labour) and Judith Tope (Conservative) as an Eccles councillor. The by-election will be held on Thursday 20th October.
