Parents and Children Warned to be Vigilant Following Attempted Abduction in Little Hulton
Police are warning parents and children to be vigilant following a report of an attempted abduction in Little Hulton.Between 8am and 8.20am a man tried to get a 13-year-old girl into his car as she walked down Manchester Road East, Little Hulton on Thursday 23 October 2008.
As she walked along the road, she saw a man standing beside a car on the opposite side of the road. He shouted that he would give her a lift if she got into his car.
The girl carried on walking but the man approached her, taking hold of her arm. He then tried to lead her to the car.
She pulled away and the man then walked off, possibly towards a dark coloured 4x4.
He is described as white, aged around 19 to 20 years old, of a medium height and build, wearing a black woolly hat, dirty work clothes and large brown boots.
Detective Constable David Hayes of Swinton CID said: "This appears to be an isolated incident and I want to reassure the community things like this are rare.
"We need anyone who may have been in the area at the time to get in touch if they noticed anything suspicious."
