Potentially fatal drugs stolen - Irlam, Salford
A large quantity of drugs has been stolen during a burglary at the Irlam Health Centre in Salford. At about 4.15am this morning, Tuesday 26 August 2008, police were informed that offenders had forcibly entered the centre on McDonald Road and removed a large wall-mounted cabinet containing medication.
The thieves then stole a large quantity of drugs from the cabinet.
Among the drugs stolen were 800 Sevredol tablets which contain high dosages of morphine, 100 capsules of Temazepam, 100 tablets of Dexamphetamine which is a strong stimulate and an unknown amount of pain relief patches.
This medication is to be taken by prescription only and if any of the tablets or capsules are taken incorrectly or by a child it could prove fatal.
The drugs were stolen from the Pharmacy located within the Irlam Health Centre.
Police are now appealing to anyone who has information about the burglary to come forward, and also warning members of the public to be vigilant and do not take any of the drugs if they are offered.
