Man robbed in his own flat - Salford
A man was forced to the floor in the hallway of his own flat during a robbery in Salford.

At about 8.30pm on Monday 30 January 2012, the 48-year-old man answered a knock at the door of his seventh floor flat on Canon Green Drive.

Four men burst inside and forced the victim to the floor. Two offenders kept him pinned to the floor while the other two searched the flat.

The offenders were armed with an axe, a machete and what appeared to be a handgun.

After jewellery was stolen from inside, the offenders left via the stairs.

The victim was not hurt but left badly shaken.

The offenders were all wearing dark clothing and were believed to be in their 20s.

Detective Constable Steven Robinson said: "This was a terrifying experience for the victim and the offenders clearly need to be caught.

"We would urge any witnesses who may have seen the victims approaching the flat or leaving to call us.

"We would also ask that anyone who has been offered Gold jewellery to contact us."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 5351 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
