Cash in transit robbery Irlams o’ th’ Height
A man was threatened during a cash-in-transit robbery in Salford.

At around 4.30pm on Wednesday 1 February 2012, a lone security driver was delivering money to the Natwest bank on Bolton Road, Irlams o’ th’ Height when he was approached by a man.

He shouted at the victim and demanded he handed over the cash box he was holding.

Fearing for his safety, he dropped the box and the man walked off in the direction of King Street.

The man is described as being white, around 5ft 9in tall, of stocky build and had a deep voice. He was wearing a black hooded top and dark coloured trousers.

Detective Constable Neil Wilson from Salford CID said: “The victim did not whether the man had a weapon and felt he may have been harmed if he did not hand over the money.

“The box contained a substantial amount of cash and I would urge anyone who was in the area who may have seen a man matching this description acting suspiciously to contact us. The information you hold could be vital in catching the offender and help us bring him to justice”

Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 5097 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
