A convicted fraudster is wanted after escaping from custody.
Suleman Tahir (born 17/10/1969) was jailed for 30 months for fraud and deception in January 2006. He was serving his sentence at HMP Sudbury in Derbyshire but absconded in December 2006 while he was receiving treatment at Wythenshawe Hospital. There is an outstanding confiscation order of more than £1million pounds in connection with Tahir's offences. Tahir is described as an Asian man, aged 40, 5ft 8in tall, of medium build with black greying hair. He wears glasses, normally dresses smartly and speaks with a northern accent. He has previously lived in the Salford Quays, Cheadle Hulme and Whalley Range areas and is known to have links to family in Chorlton and Whalley Range.
