Salford mother injured during burglary at her home
At 3:50pm on Wednesday 18 August 2010, the woman was in her house with her two children on Moor Lane when she heard a disturbance in the back garden. She went to investigate and saw two teenagers removing a mountain bike from the garden shed. They then tried to get into the house through the patio doors but were disturbed by the woman. They demanded the 39-year-old, mother of two, handed over the keys to her car, but she refused. A plant pot was then thrown through the window, hitting the woman on her back. The offenders then ran away with the keys from to the patio door. The woman received bruising to her back. The first offender was white and around 18 - 19 years old. He was 6ft tall, had blue eyes and wore a black woolen balaclava with dark coloured clothing. He spoke with an accent local to Salford. The second offender is white, with brown hair and looked younger than the first offender. Police Constable Adele Ainscough said: “The victim was a mother at home with her two children. “She could have been seriously injured when the plant pot was thrown through the window. “I would ask anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious to contact me immediately.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Greater Manchester Police on 0161 872 5050 or the independent charity, Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
