Totem Pole Quays walk - May 3
Bank Holiday Monday - May 3 2010 - 2pm meet at The Lowry

Guided walk with some of Manchester’s professional tourist guides, who are giving their services free to support the campaign to resurrect Salford’s very own Canadian totem pole.

A popular Docks landmark for many years outside the Manchester Liners
building, the totem pole was lost during The Quays redevelopment.

Thanks to Salford Councillor Stephen Coen, it has been rediscovered and brought home to Salford and is now at the Lowry Outlet Mall awaiting restoration.

Stephen is heading the campaign to have the totem pole fully restored and re-sited in the Quays.

Come along on 3rd May and hear more about the totem pole, the Manchester Liners story, tales of the Ship Canal and The Quays … and how ‘Buffalo Bill’ Cody’s Wild West Circus made its mark in Salford in the 1880s.

No need to pre-book, just turn up and enjoy!
