Mossbank Bulldogs 42 Cadishead Rhinos 10
Match report from Paul Elliott An understrength Cadishead Rhinos travelled to St. Helens to play unbeaten Moss Bank Bulldogs on Saturday. In the early stages the Rhinos more than matched Moss Bank and were unlucky not to take the lead through chances by Martin Burgess, Richie Bringau and Matt Evans. Moss Bank however weathered the storm and ground down the Rhinos to take an 18-0 half time lead. The Rhinos came out strongly in the second half and were rewarded in the 50th minute when Richie Bringau crashed over from short range. Jason Reed was unsuccessful with the kick leaving the scoreline at 18-4. Moss Bank responded in devastating fashion against a flagging Rhinos side and scored 3 converted tries in a 12 minute spell to extend their lead to 36-4. The Rhinos dug deep and were rewarded with a try from player/coach Jason Reed who also converted the kick. Despite their best efforts the Bulldogs had the final say when they cut through the Rhinos defence once again for the final try of the afternoon. The strong running Matt Evans was a awareded the man of match for a Rhino's team which showed plenty of passion and effort but could not match the superior play from Moss Bank
Rhinos game next week is at home to Leigh Central on November 15th, kick off 2.00pm.
