Swinton Lions need new quality and quick
by Chris Brierley
Steve McCormack won’t be signing players just to make up the numbers. The Swinton coach has admitted he needs to bolster his squad before the start of the Northern Rail Cup at York on Sunday, February 12. He has been in contact with Super League clubs with a view to bringing players in on loan or on dual-registration. He said: “We just need to add a little bit of quality and a few more numbers to the team because one thing we have not got at the moment is competition for places. “It’s obviously very early and we haven’t even started the season but we need to have players fighting for the jerseys. “Hopefully we will do that soon. “I’ve been in discussion with a few Super League clubs. Like us they have completed their pre-season games and once they have sorted their squads out and named their first team line-ups for next week we will know a little bit more. “But we don’t just want to bring numbers in, we want players who are going to have an impact on the club. “Even though we are short on numbers I will take my time and bring the right people in.” Due to problems with spam only SalfordOnline members can now leave comments.
