Salford Reds set for final pre-season hurrah
Salford City Reds complete their pre-season programme at Salford City Stadium against Wigan Warriors on Tuesday evening (8pm), looking to build on the good work shown the last time out in their victory over Halifax. Challenge Cup holders Wigan will become the first Stobart Super League opposition to play at the new stadium, and will be smarting after losing heavily to Huddersfield Giants in their friendly last week, albeit it with a young team on the field. New Warriors Head Coach Shaun Wane is promising a strong Wigan line-up for a game that both sides will see as an important benchmarking exercise ahead of the season’s big kick off just 10 days later. With the Reds having received good news about Matty Ashurst’s ankle injury in the week, the former Saints man will still more than likely miss the game, but that should be all he misses, after initial fears that the injury could be potentially serious. Besides Ashurst the Reds have a generally clean bill of health, with Joel Moon’s broken nose having healed well, the popular newcomer looks set to continue his rise as a fans’ favourite after his exciting debut last Sunday. The largest crowd of the pre-season is expected for the game and it is the first time all four stands will be open and tickets are available in advance from HERE to avoid the queues. The stadium box office is also open on Sunday (9am-5pm) and weekdays (9am-10pm) - Please note, if all windows are closed, tickets can be purchased at the Stadium reception/ All ticket offices will be open so if you wish to stand behind the goals, or sit in the East Stand, heading to one of the satellite ticket offices behind those stands will reduce your waiting time. West Stand tickets should be purchased from the Main ticket office adjacent to the stadium entrance. Car parking at Salford City Stadium needs to be pre-purchased and can again be bought HERE and printed out at home. Reds’ fans wishing to buy a car-parking season ticket should note that they will be available for the Super League season at this game (but do not include the Wigan friendly) Source: Salford Reds.
