Mac: Swinton's missing men are fit
by Chris Brierley
Andy Gorski could be available for Swinton's trip to Barrow on Sunday. The back row forward, who joined the club on loan from Leigh last season before signing full time, is expected to be fit. Gorski missed the friendly against Widnes as did winger Rob Foxen. Lions coach Steve McCormack said: "We’ve not really got a big enough squad to rotate players and only two or three lads missed out on the Widnes game. "Rob Foxen will get a run out. Andrew Gorski missed out with an injury but is looking very promising." Barrow is one of McCormack’s former clubs and the teams met pre-season last year in a game the Cumbrians won, but only just. "It’s a club I know well but it's quite a bit different now to when I left it due to the problems they've had over the last 12 months," he said. "But when you look at some of the individuals still in the team they are still quite strong and fancy themselves for promotion to the Championship. "Last year was a really good game and after our performance I thought we were in for a good season because that Barrow side was an outstanding team with quite a few ex-Super League players. "This time it's totally different and both clubs are at a different stage of their development. Barrow have started from scratch and we are hoping to kick on from last season. "So the circumstances are different but to go to any Cumbrian club is always very difficult so we are expecting a tough game."
