Preview: Irlam FC versus AFC Darwen
Irlam play Darwen this weekend, a fixture that was missing last season as todays visiting Club spent a season in the West lancshire League while they restructured, before resuming their rightful place back in the Vodkat League.

Our visitors seem to be finding their feet again in the League, and a creditable 1-1 draw against Leek CSOB in the week proved that they are able to battle well for 90 mins.

Irlam go into the game at the weekend on the back of real disapointment, going down 1-0 against a Wigan RP side that always seem to get the result against us when we visit them at the Wigan Park Arena.

Reports back from the game ironically said that we were by far the best side on the day, and played some of the best football seen so far this season.

It is with this in mind that hopefully the team can carry this form into the game on Sat and mantain the good start to the season.

Obviously a typo it is of course Irlam FC unless Irlam Hornets get beat in their games 1-0 or draw them 1-1 whilst sharing the same club logo, yours pedantically....

Hi ! Just catching this report there seems to be a bit of confusion to some ! that Irlam Hornets is a amateur Rugby league club and not a football club. This is the first report I've seen carrying the similar name as ourselves Irlam Hornets Amateur Rugby League Club. could you please clarify if this is Irlam FC as in football club
