SalfordOnline's newest sports reporter has been announced!

10-year old Ellis Snelgrove (pictured, right) is rugby-mad, and sends his match reports into SalfordOnline to get them published.

His first attempt, a match report of the Catalans Dragons match vs Salford at the Willows, is published below.

I want to report to you about Salford and Catalans Dragons on Friday evening. It was magnificent at the Willows, the Salford fans were cheering like mad.

Anyway it was a great game for Salford in the first half.

Wille Talau made a try for salford in the 18th minute.

Stefan Ratchford kicked home a goal for Salford, and at that time it was 6-0 to the home team. The Salford players were pleased.

Then, in the Catalans' half, Stefan Ratchford passed to Smith, then Smith made a clumsy pass and the Catalan player Remi Casty got the ball from the pass.

He sprinted from his own half to Salford's try line, then at that time it was 6-4 to Salford.

After that it was going odd-even odd-even for Salford and Catalans for a bit.

It was going terribly wrong for Catalans, then for some reason Catalans got the ball off Gibson and he passed to David Guasch - he ran to Salford's try line and made a try for them and made it Salford 6-8 Catalans.

After Greenshield for Catalans lost the ball, Ashley Gibson for Salford sprinted 15 metres to touch down the ball, it was half time then.

The score at half time was Salford 12-8 Catalans and at half time I got to shake Iguito's hand.

10 mins after the break Catalans scored again, this time by Gregory Monis, that made it 12- 14 to Catalans.

Then 9 mins later they scored a try again. Then 10 min later they scored a try again then it was game over.

Final score: Salford 12 Catalans 24

Man of The Match picked by the fans Stefan Ratchford

Like it. I hope to read more from Ellis. Good idea to liaise with schools for other children to have a go as well. Pleased to note Ignito's doing his bit, too. D.F.

Congratulations SalfordOnline in recruiting a cub reporter, why not approach local schools with a view to them choosing a pupil to cover a story for you, good forward and community thinking on your part. Bet loads of kids would jump at the chance of it.
