Staff Picks - Part 1: Christopher Eccleston
Here we review some of the best features from SalfordOnline, starting with our staff picks, firstly from our Hanky Park-born local history editor and author Tony Flynn.

Christopher Eccleston has enjoyed a stellar year. In 2011 he starred
in the critically acclaimed Shadow Line with top British acting talent Chiwetl Ejiofor and Stephen Rea.

This Christmas he's popped up again on our screens in the updated retelling of The Borrowers alongside ex-Misfits star Robert Sheeran and northern comic legend Victoria Wood.

The Manchester United supporter was born at 59 Blodwell Street before the family moved to Little Hulton. He still lives in Eccles when he's not travelling the world for films, TV and theatre.

Still, he's very down to earth and gave up his time to talk to Tony about growing up in Salford and about his love of reading for the grand re-opening of the Carnegie Library in Eccles.

Followed by the Salford Riots, the Swinton Superhero, Last days of the Willows, the Lee Erdmann shooting, The Light Graffiti Boys, Battle of Bexley Square, Jimmy Rushby at Hiroshima, Worsley Dry Docks, No/Yes to the Mayor referendum, The Monton Lighthouse, Rememberance Sunday in Salford, I think that is about it, but will be proved wrong, so all in all not a bad news coverage from SalfordOnline.
