Video: Wild Wings Birds of Prey, Worsley
Set in the grounds of Worsley Old Hall, the site of Worsley Garden Centre is the truly amazing Wild Wings Birds of Prey.

Run by Ian Middleton and his partner Carole Rose, they have over 25 years experience in breeding, training and flying birds of prey.

Just talking to Ian you can see the enthusiasm and love that he has for the birds.

On display are an international selection of birds of prey including, Owls, Hawks, Falcons, a Black Vulture (Coomy), a Russian Steppes Eagle (Logan) and many more, with each given their own name.

Ian encourages school trips so that children can not only learn about the birds but also get up close and personal with them.

There is an educational lawn where the birds are displayed and an indoor classroom where you can learn virtually anything you need to know about these birds.

It truly is a fascinating day out visiting the centre and I would highly recommend it to anybody, especially if you have young children, in fact you can have your photo taken with the birds which you take home with you as a souvenier of the day.

I was interested to learn that Ian is also an accomplished leather worker, who makes bespoke hand stitched gloves for other bird trainers and breeders, and he gives lessons in this traditional craft at the Wild Wings centre.

The price of admission is £4.50 for an adult, and £3.50 for children and OAPs, children under three are admitted free, alternatively you can buy a family ticket for two adults and two children for £14.00
