Video: Mayor's webcast 2010
by Tom Rodgers

In the second Mayor's webcast, SalfordOnline try to give you, the people, an in-depth picture of what exactly the Mayor of Salford, Councillor Roger Lightup, gets up to in this ceremonial role.

Salford City Council have asked us to produce this webcast, certainly a first in Salford, if not Greater Manchester. Amazingly, the Mayor completes over 360 engagements per year, more than one every day of the year, including Saturday and Sunday.

It includes presiding over and speaking at events as diverse as the opening of a community garden, to inviting local Brownie groups to the Mayor's Parlour, talking anti-social behaviour and rehabilitation issues with local charities and many more.

In this webcast, produced at the end of February, the Mayor, Councillor Roger Lightup, looks back at his work over the first two months of 2010.

you want to be careful asking for charisma from your politicians, that's how we got Tony Blair and how we'll probably get "Call me Dave" Cameron
