  Video: Icy Pavements dangerous across Salfordby Emma Davis We asked Monton shoppers sliding on the slippery pavements whether they'd like to see more snow or whether they'd had enough of the recent chilly weather. Despite having most of the recent heavy snowfall behind us, the below-freezing temperatures overnight mean that the top layer that people are walking on is pure ice, and is making progess along the pavements a difficult and risky business. Despite most of the roads being relatively clear, it is the pavements which are still in a poor state of repair, with most of the grit and sand having been used on the road. The general consensus was that further cold weather would not be a welcome addition....
