Video: A Salford Song for Christmas 2011
SalfordOnline has begun its Salford Song for Christmas 2011 and we have just received this song, "Rows of Toby Light on Christmas Eve" by Salford-born singer/songwriter, Jonathon Barrington.

Jonathon was born in Little Hulton and attended Joseph Eastham school, he is probably much better known in the area as JB the Mod, due to his love of scooters, mod music and clothing, check out his Facebook page.

He has been playing for two to three years and has written about thirty songs including this whimsical ditty about his local pub and its regulars.

He was a member of the group of musicians who used to play in the Queens Arms, Patricroft at what became known as the "Snug Sessions" with such musicians as Ian Bent and Albert Thompson before moving to the White Lion pub in Swinton.

If you like this song and want to see Jonathon play live, then pop into the White Lion on Monday 19th December when the pub has its Christmas bash with musicians galore.

Last year's winner was Albert Thompson with his beautiful and touching song, "Jesus came to Salford for Christmas", you can watch the video by going to the link below.

If you would like to enter this competition, please post your video to SalfordOnline's Facebook page, for a prize we shall rummmage around in Santa's sack and see what we can dig out!
