Tommy let us not pretend this incident did not happen, therefore people are entitled to voice their opinions just the same as you are. I think enough mud slinging has gone on, one party think the festival was good the other think it was badly run, can we leave it at that please.

The truth is it happened In Salford, for a real insight go to www.salfordstar.com Salfordonline is a group that gets funding via Salford council, how come you did not cover any of the many gigs? i.e The Salford Music Festival. Infact none of the so called other music groups covered it or helped i believe. As for the little few who have a rant on here, your the real clowns who give Salford a bad name. The main point was all the bands who played were the headline, not one in particular. It was not battle of the bands or a competition, It was a free festival with no funding or help. The White Horse- The staff were sacked i'm told who were supposed to be helping and despite the best efforts to save it, It was unavoidable. Most of the bands were insulted upon arrival from the word go and given a slot elsewhere. If i was Mr Blaney i would have done the same and told The Kings to do one! They were the only venue that wanted 300 pounds to run the event! It was a free festival and they got a lot of press prior, all the bands booked played, but no one has the right to pull any bands set short. Some call it Rock n Roll. We all had a great time, how you can all gang up and critcise one small incident is beyond me. My band played at The Hope, we got looked after and had a great sound, and we are from Salford! I met several people who attended The Kings Arms, they all agreed Mr Blaney had a point, Girl Peculiar were only on for 20 minutes, the soundman was a joke. Read the comments from a German guy who came over with his friend on salfordstar.com He has a different take on it all. Stop moaning and slagging Salford people off who actually do good for Salford. Salford council ought to be ashamed, who wants to pay 60,000 pounds for an ice rink? How much will the tax payer have to pay for the proms this year? These are things that bother me. The same thing happened when the Shuttleworth world cup article was on here, only negative comments. Well done to all involved, ignore the few who are only out to cause trouble on here. Looking forward to next years. Tommy.

ED let go of jenny's make-up bag and let her go and make it in the world of music! and stop clinging to young talent that you happen upon and promising them riches when all they'll get is the FALL FALL FALL..... second hand... trigger concience if it's possible...

I can't see it running again. Who will go, and more importantly, which bands will want to bother playing?

Will this be running next year?

Been reading these comments for a while, I wasn't there but it sounds like a disorganised event, but does blaney really deserve to be called a "monster" as in comment below, and talking about his other house sounds like jealousy to me.

Salford was not celebrated at the kings arms! It was merely used as a mindless tribal chant by a man ( eddie blainey) intent on self publicity! leave entertainment and organisation to competent talented people in future!!

Thank God Graham Nash never turned up to witness the fiasco in the Kings Arms last week,Graham contacted me to say that because of all those happy memories he had jumping up on stage in the "Clowes" to belt out a few old shanties ( pre the Hollies ) he would try to get over from L.A. schedules allowing,Anyway Graham grew up in the old Ordsall area and the person whom shall remain nameless would not have lasted five seconds with Vinegar Vera, never mind giving cheek to Graham.John White

Inflictors were brilliant, is Mr Blaney deaf ???? They were onstage in minutes after his childish outburst and blew the roof off the Kings.

The last band (The Inflictors) were fantastic, and I also believe they were fantastic on saturday at Factory251, (Girl Peculiar) was also brilliant when she was on her own. It's a shame to see people who claim to be Salfordian's acting like pr**ks! Shame on you Ed Blaney!!!!!!!

A Salford festival without the three best bands in the city playing (Suzuki Method, Sandbox, The Black Knights)? Give me a break!

Anything to say Ed?

The Inflictors were stunning on thursday night at Kings Arms, and having to go on following the idiot Ed Blaney who proceeded to abuse the crowd and throw a table and also a punch at members of the audience, because Girl Peculiar's set was cut short for one song and he wasn't even on the stage. This left a very bitter taste in my mouth which thankfully, was overcome by the brilliant Inflictors, who stole the show and the night. At least Salford still has some talent to offer.

Mr Blainey several questons for you. Firstly you were not advertised to play at the Kings arms, so why did you feel the need to try and hog the limelight by singing your own stuff, you then slagged off the other bands, then to top it all you punched a spectator in the face, a lot of witness's to this assault then you proceeded to hurl chairs about the pub. How do you expect to be taken seriously when you are a bullying, meglo maniac with very little musical talent and appaling manners. The Salford Festival was a complete shambles, you once again promised so much and once again produced so little, hang your head in shame Mr Blaney, you personally ruined this event for everyone and have succedeed in making even more enemies, something I thought that even you couldnt surpass. You scare people.

I heard he also punched someone and was later seen outside crying. There seems to have been more chaos at other venues also. No PA systems and just really bad organisation all round.

How does Karaoke at the Weaste qualify as being part of some sort of musical festval?

I attended the Kings Arms on Thursday and what I witnessed was a shameful outbursts by the organiser of this so called festival. I'm not 100% sure why it happened nor doe's it matter but throwing what looked like a small table at the audience and telling them to F*** Off is surely not the way to behave. Ed Blaney has brought shame on Salford and I would never attend anything he is involved with ever again. He also told the crowd that the next band on were Sh*t. I really don't think that was very fair and if they were then why did he book them. The man is an idiot and should be locked up. No doubt he will be on here soon asking why I have not left my name to this comment. Well I will tell you why Mr Blaney. Its because you scare me like you scared the audience at the Kings Arms on Thursday. You need to see a doctor asap.
