E-Fit released after Salford schoolgirl, 14, mugged for iPod
Police have released an efit after a 14-year-old girl had her mobile phone and MP3 player stolen during a street robbery in Salford.
At around 4.25pm on Wednesday 11 January 2012, the victim was walking along Bradford Road near to Ellesmere Park when she was approached by a man on a bike. He asked her for the time and she checked her iPod Touch before he rode off. The offender cycled up to her again and grabbed hold of her wrist before taking the MP3 player out of her pocket. He demanded she gave him her phone and he rode off. The victim was not hurt. He is described as being in his late teens/early 20s, of thin build, around 5ft 8in tall, had prominent teeth and short blonde hair. He wore black waterproof jacket with the hood up, dark tracksuit pants and was riding a silver or black bike. Police Constable Mark Gingell from the Volume Crime Team said: “I would urge anyone who was in the area who may have witnessed the robbery or recognise the image of the man to contact police. There was still daylight at that time and we are hopeful someone may have seen something suspicious.” Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 5353 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
