Save Salford's maternity unit protest march
Were you born in Hope Hospital, Salford? OK it's changed it's name to Salford Royal but it is still the only maternity hospital unit in Salford and is under threat of closure. Tomorrow, Sat 4th September there’s a big rally, backed by Ryan Giggs and loads of others, to help save Salford Royal Hospital’s Maternity Unit. The demo starts at 2pm in Buile Hill Park, hundreds of people are expected to attend, special t-shirts have been printed up for the occasion, stating "Born in Salford". Washing lines with pictures of babies born in the hospital pegged to them are to be strewn across the park before the big march to Salford NHS headquarters on Salford Precinct. So if you, your children, your grandchildren, your parents basically anybody that you know was born in the hospital, turn up and voice your concern, you know it makes sense.
