Video: Race for life with Salford's 10K charity runners
by Tom Rodgers
Edited by Karen Morris

Among the thousands of runners at this year's Salford 10K are those raising money for cancer charities in Salford.

Step forward Brian Wroe, ex-Chief Superintendent with GMP, a woman who has lost 5 and a half stone in the past year, Jayne Noctor, and father and son Mike and Stephen Holland.

All have been affected by cancer in some way, and their way of paying back the organisations that helped them through tough times is to raise sponsorship money for these Salford charities.

KidsCan, based at Salford University, raises money to help allieviate the pain and suffering caused by childhood cancer.

The Salford branch of Macmillan supports people as they follow family members through this traumatic disease.

All of the runners are training hard and aiming for times of under an hour for the 10,000 metre race around Salford Quays on Sunday.

The race begins at 9.30am so for you early risers, get there to support these two very worthy causes.
