Video: Winter Warmer with Roe Green Hog Roast
One of the last independent butchers in the local area hosted a hog roast to chase away the winter blues.

As the frost descended on Roe Green village, Lars Zollinger offered locals a piece of the Yorkshire hog he'd been roasting for the past six hours.

And as the irresistible smell of basted pig wafted over the green, and word spread of crackling a yard and a half long, local families and passers-by swarmed to the butchers to get a taste of the 55kg beast.

Lars has been running the hog roasts for the past 9 months and they've quickly become an institution in the small village.

Within an hour the whole pig was decimated.

All he needs to bring in for the next roast is to introduce some home-made cider, and that's our office budget blown for the year...
