Drinkers Hope for better Salford health
by Tom Rodgers
Edited by Karen Morris Regulars in the Hope Pub on Eccles Old Road got a schooling in healthy drinking on Friday. The team from Salford Health Matters were pulling pints behind the bar during the lunch rush and handing out free information on how to stay healthy while enjoying your favourite tipple. Whilst the pub is ideally suited for its proximity to Salford Royal if anyone gets in any trouble, the staff thought it was a good idea to invite the health workers and clinicians down to give out the message that prevention is better than cure. Tricia Bell has worked as the manager at the Hope for the past three years. She explained: "We don't want anyone who's drinking in here to go out and be involved in bad behaviour, so we've had the Health Matters team in to spread the word about responsible drinking."
