Pendleton Community Room proves popular
A police community room aimed at making officers from Salford East
Neighbourhood Policing Team more accessible to the public has proved a success and will be open for a further 12 months.

Over the past year, residents have been visiting PCSOs Diane Clough and Julie Smith on a regular basis at St Sebastian's Community Centre on the Whit Lane Estate in Pendleton.

A number of topics have been discussed, including residents telling
officers how they want their neighbourhood poIiced and the issues
affecting them and their families. Crime reduction advice and contact details of Salford Eaat Neighbourhood Policing Team have also been handed out.

PCSO Diane Clough said: "The idea of the police community room is to
increase our accessibility to residents and give them the opportunity to discuss issues that can affect them on a daily basis."

"Thanks to further funding from Salix Homes and New Deal Communities,
members of the public will continue to be able to talk to us in friendly and private surroundings."

If you have any neighbourhood policing issues within the Ordsall,
Claremont, Langworthy, Weaste and Seedley area, contact Salford Central Neighbourhood Policing Team phone 0161 856 5084 or email salfordcentral.neighbourhood@gmp.police.uk.

You can also call anonymously with information about crime to
Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Crimestoppers is an independent charity who will not want your name, just your information. Your call will not be traced or recorded and you do not have to go to court or give a statement.
