Convenient police surgeries start in South Salford
Residents in Salford will be able to talk to their local officer as they shop. Salford South Neighbourhood Policing Team will be holding a monthly surgery at Tesco Express on Liverpool Road in Eccles. If the surgery proves popular with shoppers and residents, it is hoped further surgeries will be introduced at other local convenience stores and supermarkets in the area. Sergeant Tom Martin from Salford South Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “Historically, we hold police surgeries in community centres and libraries and we are always looking for alternative venues. This type of location is ideal as it attracts a large number of people and gives them the opportunity to discuss issues with their local officer as part of their routine. “If this proves successful, we will roll it out to other supermarkets, as well as continuing our regular surgeries at our venues across the neighbourhood.” For more information on dates and venues of surgeries and Police And Communities Together (PACT) meetings, visit gmp.police.uk.
