Engineer rescued from cherry picker in Swinton
A BT engineer was rescued by firefighters after getting trapped in the bucket of his cherry picker at the top of a telegraph pole in Swinton.

A crew from Agecroft were called to Lime Avenue at 11.49am this morning.

A 50 year old man was marooned nine metres off the ground after the bucket became stuck to the top of the pole as he was working on phone lines.

A hydraulic platform was used to bring him down safely.

That surely must be every BT engineer's nightmare, and unfortunately it actually happened to this poor fella. I'll bet his face was redder than a cherry!
