Salford tyre blaze
Just after 6pm on Monday, August 15 Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service received around 50 calls reporting a large amount of smoke around Adelphi Street in Salford.

Three fire crews were initially mobilised to the address.

Once in attendance fire crews confirmed that a fourth fire engine was required to help tackle the large fire involving tyres.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control using jets and an aerial appliance.

The blaze was started deliberately by unknown persons and caused damage to a large number of tyres in the open.
