Peel Green light aircraft crash - latest.
Just after 12.20pm on Friday, July 29 Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service received reports of an incident involving a light aircraft.
Fire crews were mobilised to Newlands Avenue in the Peel Green area of Eccles, Salford - who on their arrival discovered that a light aircraft had crashed into a house. First on the scene were fire crews from City Airport - who laid a foam blanket. Greater Manchester firefighters assisted in removing two male casualties from the aircraft before they were taken to hospital by air ambulance - suffering from impact injuries and burns. At 1.40pm six fire engines remained in attendance at the incident. Also in attendance at the incident is the fire service Urban Search and Rescue team - as the semi detached property has been heavily impacted by the crash. NW HART Team( North West Helicopter Air Rescue Team) are also in attendance. A57 closed between Peel Green and Irlam. Source: GMF.
