Firefighters battle through night in Clifton
Fire crews were working all night on Tuesday evening to battle a fire on Clifton Business Park.

At just after 10.30pm on Tuesday 15 June, firefighters were called to an unoccupied commercial premise on on Bolton Road in the Swinton area.

The two storey building was already well in flames when firefighters arrived at the property, and over 40 firefighters were forced to use water jets, breathing apparatus and a Hydraulic Platform Vehicle to bring the first-floor fire under control, preventing it from spreading to a number of adjoining properties.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue said: "Specialist Fire Scene Investigators are working to establish the cause of the fire."

No road closures happened as a result of the fire but Fire Crews remained in attendance throughout the night carrying out damping down operations.
