Fish tank causes Broughton fire
by Mark Bright
A house on Bury New Road in Broughton was the subject of a fire investigation on Saturday 15 May. Shortly after midnight, firefighters from the Broughton and Agecroft stations were called to a detached house in Broughton - to the report of a burning smell from a garage attached to the house. The firefighters searched the garage, and located the fire in a nearby fish tank - which they extinguished using a a dry powder extinguisher, while wearing breathing apparatus. The fire is thought to have been caused when the heating element of the unit overheated. No-one was reported to be hurt. Due to problems with spam only SalfordOnline members can now leave comments.
