Kirklees Composition Competition

Salford University Brass Band

For a number of years Salford University student composers have had the unique opportunity to have their music played and published through this prestigious competition. As a result of this Kirklees Publishers have a section of their catalogue known as the ‘Salford Collection’. This is an exceptional opportunity to listen to this year’s competition entries. Among the adjudicators will be joint Managing Directors, David and Graham Horsfield.

Peter Mountain Exhibition

8 - 26 March 2010

Peter Mountain is a sculptor currently researching computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacture (CAM) at Salford University, based within the Centre for Virtual Environments.

By harnessing the processes normally associated with the industries of rapid prototyping, packaging, computer aided game design, digital surveying and scanning, Peter has manufactured new sculpture. Showcasing some of these new works, this exhibition can also be seen as a documentation of his journey so far.

Venue: Chapman Gallery, Chapman Building, University of Salford, M5 4WT
Opening hours: 10.00am - 4.00pm, weekdays only.
Evening event: Tues 16 March, 6-8pm. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
