Attraction of the month

The Kings Arms, Bloom Street

Situated just off Chapel Street and just 10 minutes walk from the centre of Manchester, the Kings Arms is a pub, music venue and theatre (home to Studio Salford) with artist’s studios. It's more than your average watering hole!

The pub was built in the 1870s to replace an older Kings Arms which stood on the other side of the street and which was pulled down to make way for the building of Salford Corporation's gas offices. The King's Arms took the mantle of "Manchester Food and Drink Festival Pub of the Year" from The Crescent in 2005.The pub has often been used for filming TV dramas such as Cracker and it more recently featured heavily in Channel 4’s Fresh Meat. New landlord The Beautiful South and ex-House Martins frontman Paul Heaton wants to pull local communities together and the pub now hosts an impressive number of events and clubs, such as a knitting club, a book club and pint and a poem nights. Go the the website to see what's on.
