Tudors fun days at Salford Museum
by Mark Bright
While Ordsall Hall undergoes its major refurbishment, the staff from the hall have temporarily relocated to Salford Museum & Art Gallery. They're hosting a series of Tudor-themed fun days, dressing up to get the kids interested in history. The Tudors were a Welsh-English family that ruled England and Wales from 1485 to 1603 - one of the most turbulent periods of British history. They ruled for 118 years and during their reign encouraged new religious ideas, overseas exploration and colonisation, and included the famous kings and queens like Henry VIII and his daughter Elizabeth I. Salford Museum & Art Gallery start with the first free event on Sunday 7 March, from 2pm to 4pm. For more information call the museum on 0161 778 0800.
