Freccles March Recommendation
By: Tony Flynn

Freccles or Friends of Eccles Railway Station as they are also known have given us their recommended March outing from Eccles train station.

The destination this month is Glossop, an attractive small, stone built town on the edge of the Pennines.

The town has many attractions for the casual visitor with a market hall which is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with numerous cafes and restaraunts.

The architecture of the town displays the influence of the estate of the Duke of Norfolk.

A trip from Eccles train station costs £3-30 and the walk around the town is described as being a doddle by Freccles.

You can pick up a free copy of the walk on Saturdays 10:00am - 4:00pm from Eccles Community Art Gallery, Boothway, Eccles (next door but one to Silcock's Grocers). Karen.
