Times: Salford Uni “better than Manchester”

Improved results in the National Student Survey have helped the University of Salford move up five places in the Sunday Times University Guide, ahead of local rivals.

The improved place of 76th means that Salford is now the fourth ranked University in the North West - above competitors such as Manchester Metropolitan University, Liverpool John Moores and Central Lancashire.

The improvement can be partly attributed to Salford's performance in the annual National Student Survey, which has shown that 80% of Salford's final year students are satisfied with their university experience.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Michael Harloe said: "This is an extremely pleasing start to the new academic year. Everyone at Salford has worked hard over the last 12 months to improve all aspects of our service to students, and it is good to see that this has been officially recognised."
