'Catastrophic' Slide in Science Standards
Standards in science exams in UK schools have suffered "catastrophic slippage", according to the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).
The RSC is calling on the government to improve the exams in order to prevent science teaching from failing a generation of pupils. They claim that official figures showing annual rises in the numbers of school children getting a grade C or higher in GCSE science subjects is a "myth".
