Lucia Queen of Light to be Elected in Sweden on December 13
Lucia, the Queen of Light, is celebrated with processions of girls dressed in long white gowns, holding candles and singing traditional Lucia & Christmas carols. In Gothenburg the tradition started in 1935 and today every city in Sweden elects its own Lucia, any woman between 18 and 25 who loves to sing can apply. The coronation of the Lucia takes place at Liseberg Christmas market in the evening of the 12th December.
