Video: Anuj Bidve family visit Salford site of son's death
The family of Anuj Bidve, who was shot and killed in Ordsall on Boxing Day, have visited the site of his death to offer their prayers. Before making their way to Orsdall Lane, where the Lancaster University student was brutally killed, they stopped off at the Salford Quays hotel where he spent his last hours. The family arrived in the UK from India on Wednesday evening, visiting Lancaster University before travelling to Salford on Friday morning. In a statement to the nation's media, Mr Subhash Bidve said that Anuj, 23, was "my only son - he was a softly spoken and humble person, a brilliant student." Fresh flowers and messages of support had been placed at the site of his killing by a local community shocked and appalled by the unprovoked attack. They will now return home with Anuj's body to continue their mourning. Anuj will be taken home as his family continue their mourning, before the body is laid to rest in a traditional Hindu ceremony.
