'Burma VJ' Documentary Nominated for 2010 Oscar
'Burma VJ' is a documentary about the professional hazards courted by Burmese video journalists during the junta's brutal crackdown in September 2007 in Burma. The documentary, directed by Anders Østergaard and produced by Lise Lense-Mølle, has been nominated for the 2010 Oscars. It highlights the work of Burmese video journalists during September 2007, when demonstrations spearheaded by Buddhist monks in Burma. The nominations announced on March 2 listed the film in the 'Best Documentary Feature' Category armed with small handycams.
