Singing with Dementia - Eccles

by the FORGET ME NOT GROUP

As an extension of the work they do in the Alzheimers Resource Centre in Eccles, the Forget Me Not Group are starting a therapeutic singing and music session in April.

It will be held on Wednesdays 11am – 1pm at the new Humphrey Booth Centre on
Worsley Road, Swinton. Carers for, and sufferers of dementia are all most welcome.

The sessions are completely free. We shall be playing music from yesteryear,
some we shall sing to, some will be a movement session, some you may like to dance to or just sit and relax. It’s all very therapeutic.

We hope the session will be a social one too. It is a warm and friendly atmosphere, you will
make new friends and the music will help you recall memories from the past which you have enjoyed and which you associate with happy times.

To be able to sing is NOT a requirement.

At Humphrey Booth there is a nice café which serves drinks and light lunches,

so you may wish to stay for lunch and continue to chat.

The exact start date is not yet confirmed so for more information phone

June Smith on 0161 788 9053 or e mail on jgumboots@hotmail.co.uk, or just call into the centre.
