University of Salford’s ‘Retrofit 2012’ Conference
With its award winning house in a lab and the re-opening of the historic home of physicist James Joules as a research centre, the University of Salford is fast becoming a leader in the energy sector. And now the University is holding Retrofit 2012, the second major conference at Salford to look at issues of reducing fuel poverty and making our homes more energy efficient.

Retrofit 2012 takes place next week from Tues 24 to Thurs 26 January at the Lowry theatre in Salford. It will take a multi-disciplinary approach, hosting business leaders, academics and politicians for discussions and debates on three main issues for UK energy policy - carbon emissions, fuel poverty and energy security.

With 70% of the homes we’ll be living in by 2050 already built, and the Government introducing its flagship Green Deal policy, the timing couldn’t be more important.
