   MediaCity Salford new home for RFL World Cup team
The Rugby Football League (RFL) is to open new offices at MediaCity in Salford, it has been revealed today. 20 employees will move into the 2,100 sq ft. offices at The Greenhouse on Salford Quays. Nigel Wood is the tournament director and Chief Executive of the RFL. He said: “We are committed to making the 2013 Rugby League World Cup the best tournament in the sport’s history and I am confident that our move to MediaCityUK will help us achieve that objective,” said Wood. Salford's City of Salford Stadium is one of 18 venues, with matches in the 14-nation tournament to be played in England, Ireland, Wales and France. Wood said the move was to administer the 2013 Rugby League World Cup - which he called "one of the jewels of the UK’s Golden Decade of Sport". Stephen Wild, managing director, MediaCityUK, said: “It is an exciting time for the RFL and we are thrilled they’ve chosen to open an office here at MediaCityUK. They bring a new and different offer to the wide variety of businesses making their home in The Greenhouse.
