   Man United Zong advert filmed at The Pie Factrory, MediaCityUK, Salford.
A new advert made for mobile telecoms business Zong, featuring some of the Manchester United FC players, was filmed in the expansive sound stages within The Pie Factory at MediaCityUK. The commercial made by Manchester-based company, Mob Films, came on the back of the recent announcement that MUFC has completed a three-year partnership deal with Zong - one of Pakistan’s leading mobile telecoms companies. Dean Sinacola, studio manager at The Pie Factory said: “We have a strong working relationship with both Manchester United FC and Mob Films, so it was great that they chose to shoot the Zong commercial within The Pie Factory. It was filmed in the Manchester stage (one of three sound stages within The Pie Factory and the build took just over a week. The Mob made some great behind the scenes footage of the production process and the final cut, which can be viewed at: http://mobfilm.chillivault.tv/p/e3beedc22d1e14e37dee .” Mirage Set Construction built the set on behalf of Mob Films and Pie Factory tenant, Design 108, undertook all the signage. The Pie Factory is owned and managed by The Peel Group and was opened in January 2007. The former cavernous warehouses now accommodate three sound stages taking up over 15,000sqft and also incorporate a full costume department, make up rooms, dressing rooms, green rooms and office space together with 24/7 security and parking. The Pie Factory complements The Studios at MediaCityUK – one of the most advanced HD facilities in Europe, located at the heart of a comprehensive and flexible production environment.
