Homeless charity needs actors
Posted by Emma Stafford
We are doing a casting for a Manchester homeless charity called Barnabus. As it is a charity they have no money for anyone but this may be suitable for actors who might be interested for experience or for their showreel. The film is a series of vignettes in which the focus of the vignette is a ‘regular person’ looking into camera and asking for “spare change”. The clip shown in the Related Links (by the same director) has a similar feel to the film we are shooting. See below for details. We would like to see a variety of people and are totally open to ethnicity and accent. Director: David Barnes Casting: Friday 15th October 2010 in Central Manchester BY APPOINTMENT ONLY Shoot: 28th or 29th October 2010 in Manchester Fee: Expenses only Usage: 1 year from first airdate Client’s website only Casting Brief: BUSINESS MAN (Male) Age 28 - 40. He is charismatic, good looking and authoritative. We may see him pleading for ‘spare change’, it may delivered with such confidence and conviction that he would demand it from you or perhaps he would persuade you with his honesty, his eyes and his body language into giving him spare change...they are all very different and all very relevant. Think Mad Men, Al Pacino, Alec Baldwin or Jack Lemmon. WOMAN IN CAR (Female) Age 24 to 34. She is down to earth. A regular person who is attractive but real looking. She is sincere with her delivery. GUY IN CINEMA (Male) Age 25 to 33. A decent looking guy who is versatile. Again a capable actor with a good variety of emotions. WOMAN IN BATH (Female) Age 25 to 40. Stunning looking, the scene will look luxurious. Needs to be confident to deliver the line with sincerity from a luxurious bubble bath. Only their shoulders and top of chest will be exposed. The bath will be bubbly! Think Betty Draper from Mad Men. GUY IN GARDEN (Male) Age 50 to 65. Probably retired he is in his garden. Fit and healthy he enjoys his life and stays active Think John Henshaw as a point of reference. If you are interested please send your contact number and a photo to info@emmastafford.tv If you have an agent you will need to ask your agent to submit you for this role.
