The Salford Show needs you
by Mark Bright
It's coming to summer time and the Salford Show needs your help. Bob Marshall of Manchester Bee Keepers Association has been in touch to ask if any community groups may be interested in entering in the Salford Show this year. It is open to anyone growing fruit veg or flowers in the city of salford and entries from community groups are encouraged. The show takes the form of a fairly traditional horticultural show, table displays of specimen fruit and veg, flower arrangements, preserves, cakes etc. with separate classes for juniors. This year they are hoping to include food preparation/cookery using some of the exhibits. Last year's show took place on Sunday 30th August in the grounds of Buile Hill Park. As well as the horticultural show there were circus and music workshops and Lancashire Hawks and Owls flew into town.
